July O-Academy Canceled

  |   WAWA News

We were excited to have have youth join us onsite for two weeks of play and exploration, however, due to circumstances related to COVID-19, we have decided to cancel the July O-Academy programs.

This was a difficult decision for us at WAWA, but with the increased rates of COVID-19 cases, Mayor Bottoms recent guidance to limit activity, and the anticipated weather for next week (mostly thunderstorms) forcing us to be indoors, we did not feel comfortable with proceeding with the in-person O-Academy.

We thank you for your interest and have additional opportunities for you to engage with WAWA, the OAC, and the Outdoors.

  • We have two more weeks of Mayor Summer Reading Club: July 22 and July 29, hosted virtually on Facebook and IG live. On July 22, Mama Koku will host a special storytelling and on July 29 we will read the featured MSRC book “In the West End”.
  • We are hosting five weeks of Fulton Fresh Mobile Market at the OAC (1442 Richland Rd SW) every Wednesday beginning July 22- August 19. Registered guests will be able to pick up a bag of food and an educational kit for their youth.
